Alternative lines and what-if scenarios

One of the best ways to learn with the FlopHero Replayer is by exploring alternative lines of play. This feature doesn’t just let you review what you did, it lets you see what *would have happened* if you made a different decision. It’s a great way to understand the full scope of GTO strategy beyond your original choices.

What are alternative lines?

In the Decision Analysis Panel, you can click on any of the GTO-recommended actions to see how the hand would have played out if you had taken that line instead. The replayer updates instantly to show the next action and the new GTO analysis for the following decision point.

The value of “what-if” analysis

This “what-if” feature is useful for getting a clearer picture of GTO strategy. It shows you not only the immediate result of a decision but also how it affects the rest of the hand. For example, if you folded on the flop, exploring the “call” line lets you see what the GTO strategy would look like on the turn and river. This helps build a more complete mental model of the game tree.

Trying different bet sizes

You can also use this tool to check how GTO strategy changes with different bet sizes. When the GTO strategy includes multiple bet sizes, you can explore each one and see how your opponent’s optimal response shifts. This gives you insight into how bet sizing impacts decisions.

Building your intuition

By regularly exploring alternative lines, you’ll develop a stronger intuition for GTO play. You’ll start to predict how the strategy changes in different spots, even before looking at the analysis. This is key to truly internalizing GTO concepts, instead of just memorizing them.
