FAQ - Technical

This article answers the most common technical questions about using FlopHero, including system requirements, supported formats, browser compatibility, and performance details. If you need help setting up or troubleshooting, this guide covers the essentials.

What are the system requirements?

FlopHero runs entirely in your web browser. You don’t need to install software or manage updates. Just open your browser and log in.

Recommended setup includes Windows, Mac, or Linux as your operating system. Use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. A broadband internet connection is recommended for smooth uploads and analysis.

For hardware, minimum 4GB RAM works, but 8GB or more is better for large databases. Screen resolution should be at least 1280×720, though Full HD is preferred.

Which browsers are supported?

FlopHero performs best on modern browsers. Fully supported browsers include the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari on Mac.

We don’t recommend Internet Explorer or outdated browser versions. Chrome or Firefox work best for maximum stability. If something doesn’t display correctly, check the Troubleshooting Common Issues article.

What file formats does FlopHero accept?

FlopHero accepts standard poker hand history files in .txt format. These are generated automatically when you enable hand history saving on poker sites.

FlopHero detects and parses all major formats without conversion. You don’t need to do anything special to your files before uploading.

Are there database size limits?

No. There are no storage limits. You can upload and store as many hands as you want.

Your plan determines which hands are analyzed, but all remain in your database. Large databases with 100,000+ hands may take longer to load, but FlopHero handles them efficiently.

Does FlopHero offer API access?

FlopHero doesn’t currently offer an API. If you have integration needs, contact hello@flophero.com to discuss possible solutions.

Can I use FlopHero offline?

No. FlopHero is cloud-based and requires an internet connection. All computation runs on our servers.

This means you don’t need powerful local hardware or software updates. You always use the most current version automatically.

How does the Live Tracker work?

The Live Tracker monitors your poker client’s hand history folder. When a hand file is saved, it uploads securely to FlopHero.

It doesn’t interact with poker software or affect gameplay. The tracker runs as a lightweight background app and communicates over encrypted channels.

How is my data protected?

All communication between your device and FlopHero uses HTTPS with TLS encryption. Your hand histories and account data are also encrypted at rest.

For complete details, see the Privacy: What We Do With Your Hands article.

What happens during maintenance?

Planned maintenance is announced in advance on Discord and social media. We schedule it during low-traffic hours and it typically lasts less than an hour.

Your data remains safe throughout maintenance. Once complete, simply log back in and continue where you left off.

Can I access FlopHero from multiple devices?

Yes. You can log in from any computer or device with a browser. Since all data is stored in the cloud, your progress syncs automatically.

Switch between desktop and laptop without losing your place. Everything stays in sync.

What languages does FlopHero support?

FlopHero is currently available in English, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian and Spanish.

If you’d like to suggest a language, contact us through feedback channels.

Which poker sites are supported?

FlopHero supports hand histories from all major PLO cash game sites, including PokerStars, GGPoker, partypoker, and others generating standard hand history files.

How much bandwidth does FlopHero use?

FlopHero is lightweight. Uploads use only a few kilobytes per hand, and even large sessions rarely exceed 100 MB of data.

Normal broadband connections are more than sufficient. You won’t need a high-speed connection to use FlopHero effectively.
